If you are not familiar with Invisalign, today we’re going to talk about what it’s like to live with the Invisalign teeth straightening system. What is Invisalign? Invisalign is a patented system of teeth straightening using plastic trays that are custom made to fit your teeth. Invisalign can sometimes straighten teeth faster and at a lower cost than traditional braces. However, Invisalign is not appropriate for all cases of teeth straightening. Your orthodontist will decide if you are a potential candidate for Invisalign teeth straightening. What is it like to live with Invisalign? The Invisalign system is usually very well tolerated by the patient for several reasons. The first reason is that you can take the Invisalign plastic parts out of your mouth. While you do have to wear them for 20-22 hours per day, you can take them out, for example, to brush your teeth. Brushing and flossing is always a bit more complicated with traditional braces, but with Invisalign, you’re brushing and flossing without any appliances at all in your mouth. The next reason is that Invisalign braces are clear. That means that they are not obvious to others. Some people like the idea that others can’t readily tell if you’re wearing braces, especially adults in the working environment. Another reason why people like Invisalign is that you can still eat whatever you want.

When you have traditional braces, you often have to be careful to avoid certain types of hard or sticky foods that can damage the metal braces that are fixed semi-permanently in your mouth. With Invisalign, you can take out the plastic trays when you eat. So, using the Invisalign system doesn’t affect your eating habits at all. One other reason that Invisalign is particularly well liked is that you typically have less frequent required visits to your orthodontist. You will still have to go regularly, but there are fewer visits required. Conclusion Invisalign is a great solution for straightening teeth although, as we mentioned earlier, it’s not a solution for all teeth-straightening cases. It’s very easy to live with and most patients are very happy with the system. If you are interested in getting Invisalign braces, contact us, and talk to us about it. We’re experts on Invisalign.
